A new study published in Archives of General Psychiatry, finds that the modern world has become so clean, that people are being deprived of the bacteria immune systems have come to rely on over long ages to keep inflammation at bay.
“We have known for a long time that people with depression, even those who are not sick, have higher levels of inflammation,” says Charles Raison, associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Emory University.

Putin: “Russia Will Spend 646 Billion Dollars for Rearmament by 2020 “!

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin announced Monday that the government will allocate 646 billion dollars for army modernization by 2020.
The armed forces called for increased funding for modernization of weapons systems and aging, which undermines performance in local conflicts after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
“We allocate serious funds, significant for rearmament program. I am afraid to pronounce that in figure: 20 trillion rubles, “Putin said. He continued:” We have finally overcome the consequences of those years when the army and navy have been massively underfunded.”
The new program provides for modernization annually to 11% of military equipment and would allow Russia to increase to 70% share of modern weapons by 2020.

Τούρκος πιλότος: «Πως έριξα τον Ηλιάκη»

Για πρώτη φορά το newsbomb.gr αποκαλύπτει σήμερα τις ανατριχιαστικές λεπτομέρειες ενός εγκλήματος στον ουρανό του Αιγαίου – που έχει κουκουλωθεί στο γνωστό δόγμα των ελληνικών κυβερνήσεων «Μην ενοχλείτε και καταγγέλλετε την Τουρκία».
Από το τουρκικό υπουργείο Άμυνας ανασύρουμε το φάκελο του θανάτου του ηρωικού σμηναγού, Κώστα Ηλιάκη στις 23 Μαΐου 2006, στην περιοχή της Καρπάθου. Στο φάκελο αυτό υπάρχει η συγκλονιστική κατάθεση του Τούρκου πιλότου του F16, Χαλί Ιμπραήμ, ο οποίος αποκαλύπτει ότι έριξε τον Ηλιάκη με πύραυλο.
Την Τρίτη 23 Μαΐου 2006 το ραντάρ της Κρήτης έχει εντοπίσει μια τουρκική φρεγάτα, που πλέει στην περιοχή της Καρπάθου και δύο τούρκικα αεροπλάνα F16 RF-4, που κινούνται για την προστασία της φρεγάτας.

Αυτή τη κατάπτυστη προπαγάνδα υιοθετεί πλέον ο πρωθυπουργός της Ελλάδας, κάνοντας χιούμορ...

The Dog Suicide Bridge Mystery..

 
The Overtoun Bridge is an arch bridge located near Milton, Dumbarton, Scotland which was built in 1859 and has become famous for the number of unexplained instances in which dogs have apparently committed suicide by leaping off of it.

The incidents were first recorded around the 1950's or 1960's when it was noticed that dogs - usually the long-nosed variety like Collies - would suddenly and unexpectedly leap off the bridge and fall fifty feet to their deaths.  In some cases, however, the dogs would survive, recuperate, and then leap off the bridge again.  The locals have a name for these dogs: second-timers.

What makes this tragic mystery even more mysterious is that many of the dogs that jump from Overton Bridge jump from the same side and from almost the same spot: between the final two parapets on the right-hand side of the bridge.

Cancer cells can be burned up with magnetic pulses

Cancer can be "burned up" with a new technique that uses magnetic pulses to heat tumour cells until they die. 
Scientists have found they can surround cancer cells with tiny particles of iron oxide that vibrate when in a magnetic field, causing the cells to heat up.

Tests in mice have shown this can raise the temperature of the tumour cells by six degrees above body temperature, around the point when cancer cells start to die.

The researchers hope that the new technique, known as hyperthermia therapy, will allow them to target cancer cells in the body and kill them without harming the surrounding tossed or causing the side effects of chemotherapy drugs and radiotherapy.

Massive dark object 'lurking on edge of solar system hurling comets at Earth'

A massive dark object may be lurking on the edge of our solar system, according to scientists.

Most comets that fly into the inner solar system seem to come from the outer region of the Oort cloud -  a region of icy dust and debris left over from the birth of the solar system.
The cloud starts from a point about 93 billion miles from the Sun and stretches for around three light years and contains billions of comets, most of them small and hidden.Read more:www.dailymail.co.uk

Croatia to Land on the Moon in 2012

Croatia is expected to make its mark on the Moon by the end of 2012 when Astronomical Society Vidulini from Istria plans to launch its space exploration vehicle - rover "Histrohod."
The robotic vehicle is the brainchild of Zeljko Mogorosa who has been working on its prototype for the past two years. "Histrohod" is expected to land at the same spot where Apollo 17 – the latest manned mission to the Moon – landed in 1972.
Through a group of mobile devices, "Histrohod" will send televised segments down to Earth.
"This is a big challenge for our society and we are extremely proud that our association and our small Istria will become a part of space exploration," said the Society’s president Marino Rumpic.

The fizzy drink that claims to burn more than 200 calories in three hours!

It sounds like a slimmer’s dream – a fizzy drink that actually makes you thinner.
Cranberry-flavoured Aspire is said to burn off 209 calories within three hours of drinking it.
Scientists at Leeds Metropolitan University found that when caffeine and green tea were combined with amino acid and ginger, there was a ‘thermogenic effect’, whereby the body generates more heat to digest food and temporarily stimulates metabolism.
However the drink, available from the health retailer Holland & Barrett at £1.59 for a 250ml can, was tested on only 20 subjects – 11 men and nine women.
There are just 12.5 calories per can. Aspire said that while there are no known side-effects, it was not advisable for those sensitive to caffeine.
The drink has been launched by Fahrenheit 60, a company based in Milton Keynes.
A spokesman said: ‘This is a UK first – a fully-researched and proven calorie-burning soft drink for the mass market.

Full Scale Replica of Noah's Ark to be Build in Kentucky

Developers in Kentucky are drawing up plans for a $150 million theme park called the Ark Encounter, to be built on a biblical scale. The ark alone will be taller than a three-story building, the deck longer than 35 tennis courts. Constructed out of timber using dimensions from Genesis, planners say it will be big enough to fit 600 train cars inside. 
"We think the ark and the account of Noah's flood, even though it happened 4,000 or 5,000 years ago, can actually speak volumes today to our culture," said Mark Looy, a developer of the park who co-founded the nearby Creation Museum.  The full article here (Video)
