Blind Type - An End To The Errors of Typing!

17 November 2010

Two cousins, researchers from Greece managed to impress the international market in July of Information & Communication presenting a revolutionary method that ignores errors when typing on touch screens and mobile Tablet PC, guess what he wants to tell the user and displays the correct text. The acquisition of the company by Google, in October, was merely the "icing on the cake" of their success.
Two cousins from Greece, Kostas Eleftheriou and Panos Petropoulos, decided to address a pressing problem on the touch screens of mobile phones, the so-called “disease of thick fingers”.

This “disease” is essentially the problem that someone faces when trying to write, even the shortest text, as the tiny keys on the touch screen is difficult to handle, so the text is usually full of errors.
These two cousins, found the solution to the problem, with an impressive application, which corrects any errors in texts of users when typing.
Furthermore, it can surmise the specific word that you wish to write, even if the whole text you have typed does not make any sense at all.
Their company BlindType was acquired by Google,
the most prestigious technological corporation in the world.
With this acquisition, the two Greeks, aged 26 and 38, respectively, achieved an elusive dream for those dealing with technology.

Revolution is expected to cause the BlindType to the ever growing industry of devices with touch screens.
Before even becoming available to the public, Kostas Eleftheriou and Panos Petropoulos, created a site on the internet, presenting their product.
In a single night, their application was the headline on every website, dealing with technology.
The redemption amount of Google, was never published.
However, the software T9, which simplified typing texts in previous mobile technology, was sold in 1999 for 350 million U.S dollars.
Past success of the Greek genius.
The 26 years old Kostas Eleftheriou, is the creator of iStream, one of the most popular applications of iPhone, which has been downloaded by, more than, 3 million people around the world (article about it in the New York Times).
Kostas Eleftheriou, collaborated with two more Greeks and it took them just seven days to complete the software. The very first week from its launch, 1 million people downloaded the iStream and as it was reported by New York Times, its creators earned, from their brainchild, more than 100.000$ within three months.
This success has attracted the interest of the Prime Minister, George Papandreou, who made a special reference to the iStream and its creators, in a recent speech at the Thessaloniki International Fair.
Due to the dull bureaucracy in our country, Kostas Eleftheriou founded the company behind iStream in England.
(Is this mentioned by the Prime Minister?...)
At the beginning, BlindType, sought its fortune in Silicon Valley, where only 15 minutes were needed to set up a new company, simply by filling out a form via internet.
