When specific types of stem cells are transplanted into leg muscles of mice, normal loss of function that comes with aging is prevented.
The findings have potential uses in treating humans with chronic, degenerative muscle diseases, according to a new study.
When mice with limb muscle injuries were injected with stem cells from donor mice, injuries repaired within days and were sustained through the mice's lifetime.
