iPhone dock keyboard

11 November 2010

We’ve seen almost all types of fancy, trendy and useful iPhone docks till date, but there’s always a scope for one where a keyboard doubles as a docking station for the Apple iPhone. This notion of brilliance has been brought to the fore in the WOWKeys keyboard by Omnio, an Apple-certified iPhone dock that makes the iPhone a computer for the keyboard. The WOWKeys keyboard makes space for the iPhone in place of the number-pad found on a normal keyboard.

The keyboard is a $100 iteration of the Asus’ Eee keyboard, which comes with a host of dedicated buttons for the iPhone, which include, “volume, display-off, brightness, media keys, keyboard toggle and a home-screen button.” Besides acting as a charging dock, the keyboard also hooks up to a Mac or PC, via USB cable, which then courtesy some third-party apps, allows the iPhone to be used as a remote control or a trackpad for the computer. The WOWKeys keyboard is expected to be available in Korea soon for about $105.
